The main aim of IASP is to provide safety professionals with advanced innovative training that exceed basic OSHA compliance with certification that help them to carry out safety related activities with boosted confidence and competency. OSHA training program by NASP equip professionals gives industry specific knowledge on best occupational health and safety practices.

Following topics required are as follows :

Mandatory – 13 hours

Introduction to OSHA – 2 Hours.

Managing Safety and Health – 2 hours.

Managing safety and health includes injury and illness prevention sessions, accident preventing techniques, organization commitment, employee’s involvement in work, worksite analysis, prevention and control of hazards, accident investigation, how to conduct safety meetings, supervisory communication etc.

Walking and Working Surfaces, including fall protection – 1 hour.

Exit Routes, Emergency Action Plans, Fire Prevention Plans, and Fire Protection – 1 hour.

Electrical – 1 hour.

Personal Protective Equipment – 1 hour.

Hazard Communication – 1 hour.

Elective – 10 hours.

Must present minimum 10 hours on below mentioned topics. And at least 5 of the topics should be covered.

The minimum length for each topic can be within one and half hour.

  • Hazardous Materials (Flammable and Combustible Liquids, Spray Finishing, Compressed Gases, Dipping and Coating Operations)
  • Permit-Required Confined Spaces
  • Lockout / Tagout
  • Machine Guarding
  • Welding, Cutting, and Brazing
  • Introduction to Industrial Hygiene
  • Bloodborne Pathogens
  • Ergonomics
  • Fall Protection
  • Safety and Health Programs
  • Powered Industrial Vehicles

Optional – 7 hours.

Teach other general industry hazards or policies and/or expand on the mandatory or elective topics. For each topic may last for one- half hour.

Assessment Criteria: At the end of the OSHA course, students will be accessed with Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). Students with 70 % marks are considered as pass in the examination and they shall be provided with certificate. Students who fails to meet required criteria should undergo the assessment again and get qualification.
