General safety certificates and/ or Diploma from a recognised institution(IOSH or NEBOSH or OSHA, Diploma will be added advantage)

* Minimum of 2 years safety and loss prevention.

* Experience in safety and in the oil and gas sector.

* Competent in the use of safety equipment.

* Good written and oral communication skills in English.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

Ensure company shutdown EHS Plan is adhered.

* To understand the scope of the project

* Ensure proper & smooth co ordination with company safety officers.

* Ensures company PTW procedures & all safety procedures are followed by contractor personnel

* Conducts regular work site safety Inspections/ audits/ walk abouts

* Participates in incident management during accidents and emergencies

* Participates in Incident Investigations following any incidents.

* Assists safety department with audits during shutdowns

* To ensure risks for using tools/ tackles, working at heights etc. are addressed to all personnel involved in work at site.

* To ensure performing parties delivers daily tool box talk and that it is documented.

* To ensure the right quality of PPE are being supplied and used.

* Ensure submission of daily safety reports.

* Ensures coordination between various divisions, sections and disciplines during shutdown execution, to ensure that all act in harmony for smooth execution of shutdown.

* Overlook the functions of the access control system

* Give guidance to the traffic guards if required

* Be prepared to learn/ conduct the initial gas testing for a confined space entry.

* Well versed with mechanical tools tackles and be capable of inspecting the tool box or tool containers on site.

* Attends daily progress/ planning meetings as advised by Company personnel

* Assist the safety department with preparation and posting of postures and delivering presentations/ tool box talks in multiple languages if required

Job Responsibilities – Substation Project:

* Implement, monitor and review the HSE Plan on site,

* Report monthly to Project Management on HSE Performance,

Requirements

Candidates should ideally have previously worked on other Abu Dhabi Sub Station Project in a similar capacity as HSE officer / engineer. You should have relevant experience of working on major transmission projects (132kV/400kV systems) involving supervision, inspection, erection of substations, buildings, cable trenches, steel structures and covering all aspects of procedures, method statements, HSE plans and safety rules.

You should ideally hold the following qualifications:

– Minimum Bachelor Degree,

– Previous Abu Dhabi Sub Station Project Approval,

– NEBOSH International General Certificate.

– Thorough knowledge of HSE Plan and Emergency Fire Fighting and First Aid Training
