    The OTHM Level 3 Technical Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety helps learners to have a good understanding of health and safety practices within the workplace. This course is designed to deliver skills that identify, manage and address the potential areas where health and safety are top priorities. The learners are provided with practical skills and knowledge to deliver their responsibilities successfully.

    Entry Requirement

    This course doesn’t require any formal requirements. However, the learners of OTHM Level 3 are recommended to have proficiency in the language that the course delivery and assessment are done with. Having a basic knowledge of health and safety in the workplace is preferred, but it is not mandatory.

    Age criteria

    The learners should have completed 16 years or more to enrol in the course.

      • Maintaining a Healthy and Safe Working Environment (14 credits)
      • Principles of Risk and Incident Management in the Working Environment (10 credits)

    Is this qualification equivalent to a degree?

    OTHM qualifications at Level 3 deliver practical knowledge, skills, and competencies that are validated in academic terms and considered equivalent to GCE AS/A Level of study.

    Progression after completing the qualification

    Upon successful completion of the OTHM Level 3 Technical Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety, participants can progress towards the OTHM Level 6 Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety qualification with appropriate experience.

    The learners can also make their progression to the OTHM Level 7 Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety Management with a relevant qualification and then pursue an MSc qualification.

    TechIOSH

    The successful candidates become eligible to apply for Affiliate/Technical (TechIOSH) membership.

    This certification is an optimal choice for anyone in a role with responsibility for health and safety in a workplace environment.

    Assessment and verification method

    All units within this qualification will be internally evaluated by the centre and externally verified by OTHM. Typically, the qualifications are criterion-referenced and will consider the overall achievement of the specified learning outcomes.

    To gain a ‘Pass’ for a unit, the learners must submit evidence representing that they have satisfied all the learning outcomes and the standards as mentioned in the assessment criteria.

    The Assessor is responsible for providing the Judgement that shows that the learners have accomplished the overall achievement.
